With early occupancy being the highest priority for the proprietor, Kane were able to hand the building over 2 weeks prior to the original completion date.
CHALLENGE/Response
A complete transformation of an existing retail facility to a modern medical centre fit-out. The existing structure was significantly altered to incorporate a new lift shaft and open entry foyer and stairwell. All alterations to the existing structure were completed without interruption to the general fit out works and end completion date.
DESCRIPTION
Delivered by Construction Management Service after submitting trade budget figures with negotiated fees and fixed price preliminaries.
Works included the alterations and fit out of an existing single-story building to form a two-story medical centre to the established standards of Primary Heath Care.
The medical centre accommodation comprised of General Practice, Specialists, Radiology, Dental, Physiotherapy, Chemist and Administration within approximately 1500m2 of floor area.
Structural works: Demolition of building roof and floor slabs, installation of passenger lift including new lift shaft, first floor suspended slab and concrete staircase, glazed atrium, new raised structural steel roof, new roof access system, alterations of car park including new automatic doors and new external signage..
Fit-out works: Partitions, ceilings, floor finishes, built in joinery and cabinetry, internal signage, air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation, hydraulic services, lighting and power, fire safety and essential services, communications and data.
