We have finally got round to putting the banner up on our Goulburn St project in Sydney's CBD (for Cardy & Co, & Trevor McNally - Project manager). Works started in January with Hazardous Materials removal, then demolition. Structure for the 2 additional floors and a new roof are complete. The existing concrete-encased steel frame, and footings of the building required extensive reinforcement to support the additional floors. Finding room in the restricted floor to ceiling heights of the existing building to incorporate the latest technologies in Mechanical, Electrical and Communications services has been successfully resolved. Design development has been extensive during the construction period, adding the challenges of 'fast-tracking' to this already complex project. Services rough-in, fitout & finishes of the existing floors for the new language school are well advanced. Steve Swane (SM), Alex Yim (CA) and the team are pushing hard for completion in July. |

Con Giannakas (CA) were ready for a well earned rest at Easter after handing
over levels 1 and 4 of the Old Teachers College refurbishment at Sydney
University - a stage of the Arts & Psychology Redevelopment (Carson
Group, PM & Noel Bell Ridley Smith, Architects). |

MS and CG were joined by our newest team member, Project Manager - Neal Jenkins, and threw themselves into additional jobs at the Uni: VisLab, Mereweather building, minor works to the Quadrangle building and the Storie Dixson wing. And they have made a point of dotting the I's and crossing the T's at Old Teachers, following up on those last little quality control details which can get left behind in time critical works. |
