Both Project Teams and the buildings they have delivered have been recognised at a number of award ceremonies held over recent weeks in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
On Friday 21 May at the Australian Institute of Architecture Brisbane Regional Architecture Awards ceremony, Old Government House Conservation and Read more: http://www.architecture.com.au/i-cms?page=14180 On Friday 18 June, two awards ceremonies were held - the Australian Institute of Architects NSW Chapter Awards in Sydney and the Australian Institute of Building Victorian Chapter Awards in Melbourne.

Whilst in Melbourne two Kane project teams were recognised for their professionalism and hard work in delivering Project Manager Steve Thiesz and his team comprising Contract Manager Shane Harders, Contract Administrator Chris Backman and Site Managers Daniel Glandfield and Damian Burns were awarded a High Commendation for Commercial Construction ($10m to $50m) for the Wild Sea Project at Melbourne Zoo.

Adaption was awarded the prestigious John Dalton Award for Building of the Year. Works were completed in 2009 by Kane Constructions, with design being undertaken by Conrad Gargett Architects. The project was previously the recipient of the National Trust of Queensland 2010 John Herbert Award for Excellence in Heritage Conservation Works.
In Sydney, the Kane Constructions Office, the 'Old Tannery School', designed by Tonkin Zulaikha Greer with Linley Hindmarsh, received a Commendation in the Commercial Architecture category. Over 200 entries were submitted with 32 buildings receiving awards or commendations. The Old Tannery School was delivered by Project Director Geoff Purcell, Contract Administrator Jason Syfer and Site Manager Stephen Swane.

Not to be outdone, Project Manager Tim Fowler and his team - Contract Administrators Harry Comeadow and Robert Francesevic, and Site Manager Sam Gallagher - won their category and were awarded the Professional Excellence in Building Award for Commercial Construction ($10m to $50m).
