Continuing an eight year tradition, a team from Kane Constructions excelled both in physical endurance and fundraising in the Melbourne Oxfam Trailwalker.
Comprising Matt Lowe, Steve Norman, Jason Goldsworthy and Ryan 'doesn't get blisters' Eagles, the Hurri-Kanes covered the gruelling 100km course in a solid 25hrs7mins and finished together - a real team effort. They tell us: 'thanks to everyone who has supported the team this year by donating, eating lollies, drinking wine and providing advice. A special thanks to all those who manned the support crews and our families for putting up with our many hours of training'. A few dozen bottles of their fundraising wine is safely stored in the Kane VIC cellars - ready for Friday knock-off drinks. The Hurri-Kanes can be extremely proud of their effort both on the trail and more importantly, on the fundraising front. Following on from the success of the 'Kane Toads' in 2009 (winners of Property and Construction division), a considerable amount on money has again been raised for Oxfam Australia. Kane Constructions is proud to remain a sponsor of the event in 2010. As well as other support, we provide and erect the start-finish barrier each year. Bring on 2011! Team 'Hurri-Kane' was made up of relative newcomers to Kane Constructions (and perhaps therefore didn't know better).
